Contractor fiscal stewardship trainings
Recorded fiscal stewardship trainings are available for all DCHS contractors and organizations interested in contracting with DCHS in the future. The goal of these trainings is to support contractors in working with DCHS and effectively managing public funding.
Required: Financial Management & Best Practices Training
This training is required by King County Ordinance 19978 for contractors who hold a contract term of 18 months or longer with DCHS. The training must be completed by at least one current staff member who has financial management or fiscal oversight responsibilities, such as fiscal and accounting staff, executive and senior leadership, or others in similar roles.

Complete and submit the Training Attestation form
Submit the Training Attestation form by uploading it to your organization’s Agiloft profile as a Provider Document. For the type of document, select the “Financial Management Training Form” field.
Instructions on how to upload documents to Agiloft are available on the Accessing Agiloft webpage. Forms can also be submitted by emailing DCHSProviderSupport@kingcounty.gov.

How to Request Training Requirement Waiver
Contractors who meet certain criteria may submit a waiver request to exempt them from the training requirement.
- Review the waiver criteria on the Training Waiver Request form to see if you are eligible to request a waiver.
- If you are eligible, fill out the Training Waiver Request form. Once completed, please submit the form by emailing it to: DCHSProviderSupport@kingcounty.gov.

Division training, technical assistance, and capacity building resources
DCHS divisions offer training, technical assistance, and capacity building (TACB) tailored to support human service providers, including organizations contracted with DCHS and organizations interested in applying for funding opportunities.

Adult Services Division (ASD)
Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) contractor training resources
The Adult Services Division (ASD) provides trainings for VSHSL-funded contractors and programs. Training topics are informed by contractor feedback and are intended to help contractors attain and maintain key skills.
VSHSL Technical Assistance & Capacity Building (TACB) and Grant Applicant Assistance (GAA)
Small to midsize contractors with an active VSHSL contract providing human services in King County are eligible to apply for TACB funding. VSHSL TACB aims to strengthen the capacity and improve organizations’ performance of programs, services, and processes. Eligible TACB topics include financial management, fund development, organizational development, human resources, information technology equipment, minor facility repairs or improvements, and more.
Small to midsize organizations that are not currently funded by VSHSL may be eligible to apply for Grant Application Assistance (GAA) to receive assistance applying for VSHSL procurements, if available. Please check each procurement for GAA availability.

BHRD provides workforce training for behavioral health providers. Training topics include the King County Integrated Care Network outpatient model and clinical care best practices.

Best Starts for Kids (BSK) strives to partner with organizations that serve, and are led by, their own communities. We recognize that many community-based organizations historically and continue to experience linguistic, cultural, and procedural barriers to accessing funding opportunities from government agencies such as King County. To address this and create a stronger system of community-based organizations in King County, BSK partners with skilled technical assistance providers to help organizations apply to funding opportunities.

BSK provides access to capacity builder consultants to offer individualized, responsive coaching and training to support Best Starts funded organizations’ capabilities. BSK matches organizations with capacity builders according to their needs to support the success of providers.

BSK offers equity-centered workshops and resources for King County early childhood providers. Workshops cover a range of topics such as racial equity, healthy child development, infant and early childhood mental health, and developmental screening.
