Overview

The King County Road Services Division is responsible for all county-owned roads, bridges and related infrastructure in the unincorporated area of King County.

As of January 1, 2019, Road Services is part of the King County Department of Local Services. The Department also includes the Permitting Division and the Community Service Areas Program. The department director reports to the King County Executive, who is the elected executive officer of county government.

The Metropolitan King County Council, the legislative branch of county government, adopts laws, sets policies and holds final approval over the budget.
