Safe computers can be found at your local library, Internet cafe, shelter, workplace, or computer technology center; avoid using shared computers when researching things like travel plans, housing options, legal issues, and safety plans. Using safe browsing practices (like using a VPN) can help prevent abusive partners from tracking your Internet history.
Protection orders
Domestic Violence, Extreme Risk, Anti-Harassment, Sexual Assault, Stalking and Vulnerable Adult Protection Orders
Per state law, these orders are to be served by the law enforcement agency where the respondent resides or works. For us, that means unincorporated King County, and the cities that contract with KCSO for police services. These cities are: Beaux Arts, Burien, Carnation, Covington, Kenmore, Maple Valley, Newcastle, North Bend, Sammamish, SeaTac, Shoreline, Skykomish, and Woodinville.For our office to attempt service, we need the complete order, petition (if applicable), and the Law Enforcement Information Sheet. This provides law enforcement with valuable information that will assist us in effecting service.
There is no fee associated with service of protection orders.
