Oath of Attorney
As of February 12, 2026, Chief Civil Judge David Keenan will hold the Oath of Attorney Ceremony via Zoom or in-person on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m.
Judge Keenan can also administer the Limited Practice Officer (LPO) oath. For future oath ceremony dates, please visit the KCBA New Admittee page.
Once you have registered, on the date of the ceremony log into the Zoom meeting using the information below:

If joining via Zoom:
- Join the Zoom meeting at least ten minutes prior to 3:30 p.m. for Oath of Attorney ceremony and for LPO Oath. When prompted, enter the passcode and wait to be admitted into the meeting.
- Please rename yourself with your first and last name (the same that appears on your signed oath). Once you are admitted into the meeting, please keep yourself on mute. Court staff will rollcall the applicants before the judge administers the oath. Please have your own copy of the Oath of Attorney on hand to follow along.
- Once the oath ceremony has concluded, the judge will sign the oath of attorney form and court staff will email the completed forms to admissions@wsba.org. The court will not return the completed oath forms to individual applicants. If you wish to obtain a completed oath of attorney form for your records, please contact the WSBA a few days after the ceremony.
If joining in -person:
- Arrive at the King County Superior Courthouse at 516 3rd Ave in Downtown Seattle by 3:00 p.m.
- Enter Courtroom W-1060 by 3:15 p.m.
- Once the oath ceremony has concluded, the judge will sign the oath of attorney form and court staff will email the completed forms to admissions@wsba.org. Please do not leave until the judge has signed your oath and returned it to you so that you can upload the oath to the WSBA.
Observers are welcome in-person and via Zoom. Please ensure that Zoom observers keep their cameras off.
