It's Lazy Mom’s Day! Relax, recharge, and remove hazardous waste.

A mother and her two young daughters are laughing and hugging.

Being a mother is not for the weak and often feels like you are being pulled in multiple directions at any given moment. With the average mom working 98 hours a week, it’s easy to overlook things like properly disposing of hazardous waste.

However, taking care of your family’s safety goes hand in hand with taking care of yourself. Mothers are nurturers, the fixers of boo-boos, and the wiper of tears, but they also need time to rejuvenate. Lazy Mom’s Day is reminder to take a break and recharge, because even supermoms deserve a day off from their many roles, including keeping the home safe from hazardous products.

What is Lazy Mom’s Day?

Lazy Mom’s Day is a day to relax, unwind, and indulge in some well-deserved self-care day. It’s a day to refrain from working or taking on stressful tedious tasks.

Here are some tips to make your day a bit stress free:

  • Follow your normal routine of getting the kids to school or daycare. If they don’t attend school or daycare, ask a spouse, partner, relative, or friend to watch them while you take the day to pamper yourself.
  • Rest or catch up on much needed rest. Remember you can’t pour from an empty cup.
  • Treat yourself to a spa day or a mani and pedi.
  • Get a massage.
  • Put on your favorite outfit, shoes, makeup, and accessories if you like them.
  • Light your favorite candles, play music, dance, laugh, and remember how awesome you are.
  • Plan to meet or catch up with other moms, relatives, or friends who may need a day of relaxation.
  • Remember, Rome wasn’t built in day so save chores that can wait for another day. If you find that you don’t have time for deep cleaning, book a cleaning service for the day.

As you enjoy a well-deserved break, remember that taking care of yourself also means creating a safe and healthy environment for your family.
