Internships with Metro

Get real-world experience with us!

Metro offers internship opportunities to veterans and students enrolled in high school, college and graduate school. And applications are now open!

Students and veterans

We have 7 undergraduate and 12 graduate student internship/veteran fellowship opportunities available for the summer and 2026/27 school year. Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026. You must be actively enrolled in school or currently enlisted in the military to apply for an internship or a veteran fellowship.

Who we are looking for

Candidates should be interested and excited to gain relevant experience from working for Washington’s largest public transit agency! Applicants are expected to reside in the Seattle area, as these positions will require a combination of in-person and virtual participation.

Open houses

Interested but want to learn more? Plan to attend one of our two open houses! These information sessions will offer a brief overview about each internship and an opportunity to talk directly with the hiring team. Computers will be also available to submit applications. Registration is not required.

A Metro team member will be sitting in the lobby to escort attendees to the 8th floor.

Once through the revolving doors, head to conference room 123, located behind the elevators.
