Glendale Forest

A forest of evergreen and deciduous trees with a gravel walking path

About the Park

Glendale Forest is a new five-acre forested park in the Glendale neighborhood of North Highline. The park encompasses a wooded ravine with a stream flowing north toward the Duwamish River. This natural, undeveloped area is within walking distance of many homes, several nearby apartment buildings, schools, and places of worship. This site is intended to serve as a local urban greenspace for the Glendale neighborhood, as opposed to providing a larger regional destination for recreation.

Acquired in spring 2020, King County Parks is working with several partners to remove debris and invasive vegetation (like common ivy and  blackberry) so that native plants and trees can thrive. Work has also begun on a new walking trail through the forest, delivered in partnership with the Washington Trails Association’s “The Trail Next Door” program.
