Steps to get a side sewer repair rebate

• Check eligibility

  Confirm your property is eligible for a side sewer rebate by adding your address to the map.

  The side sewer rebate is available for eligible properties in the Lakehaven and Midway Sewer Districts.

• Apply for the side sewer repair rebate

  If your property is eligible, then apply for the side sewer rebate.

• Application review

  We will review your application and confirm you are geographically eligible for the side sewer rebate program. Only properties within the Lakehaven and Midway Sewer Districts are eligible for this side sewer rebate program.

• Eligibility letter sent

  If your property is eligible, then we will send you a certificate of eligibility letter with next steps on what side sewer repair work will qualify for our rebate. We will also include a list of sewer contractors authorized by the Lakehaven or Midway Sewer District - you will need to hire a contractor from that list. We recommend you get quotes from at least 3 contractors to compare prices.

• Select an authorized sewer contractor

  You, the property owner, selects an authorized sewer contractor to perform your side sewer repair work.

• The sewer contractor scopes your side sewer lines

  The cost of scoping your side sewer lines is an eligible expense covered through the side sewer repair rebate.

• Contractor emails cost

  The sewer contractor emails an itemized cost estimate to you and to picrebates@kingcounty.gov.

• Rebate confirmation letter sent

  We will send you and your sewer contractor a rebate confirmation letter outlining what tasks will be reimbursable through our rebate program. This rebate confirmation letter will include your rebate voucher number.

  • You will have 3 months from the time the voucher number was issued to have the side sewer maintenance work completed.
  • Share your voucher number with your sewer contractor.
  • If large ground disturbing work will occur during side sewer repair work, then a cultural resource review will be started. This initial cultural resource review process could take up to 45 days.
• The maintenance work is performed

  The sewer contractor will complete the side sewer repair work.

• Pay the cost of the maintenance minus rebate

  You will pay for the side sewer repair work, MINUS the cost of the eligible rebate amount.

• Contractor sends the invoice

  Your sewer contractor will send us their invoice, a completed King County Substitute W-9 form (if not previously shared with King County), and this short sewer rebate reimbursement form to picrebates@kingcounty.gov to receive reimbursement for the qualifying rebate amount.

• Reimbursement

  We will reimburse your contractor for the qualifying rebate amount.
