Come visit a Hazardous Waste disposal facility
Have you visited one of our hazardous waste facilities before? King County makes hazardous waste disposal easy with a simple process that anyone can navigate.

Don’t stew over your hazardous waste. Bring it to one of our disposal facilities.
You’ve likely heard that the Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County has four hazardous waste collection sites, each offering free disposal services for residents and small businesses in King County. But have you ever wondered what the actual process is like to drop off your hazardous waste?
Read on to learn more about the drop off process and check out the series of videos we’ve put together that walk through the visit from start to finish.
How does it work?
First, gather your hazardous waste, including items like batteries, cleaning supplies, and herbicides/pesticides. A full list of accepted products and quantities is available on the Haz Waste Program’s website. Next, safely secure your items in your vehicle – away from the passenger compartment.
You can take your items to one of the following disposal locations:
- Factoria Haz Waste Collection Site
- Located at Factoria Transfer Station
- 13800 SE 32nd St. Bellevue, WA 98005
- Open 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Tues-Fri) and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Sat–Sun)
- North Seattle Haz Waste Collection Site
- Located on Stone Ave, between 128th and 125th
- 12550 Stone Ave N Seattle, WA 98133
- Open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Sun-Tues)

- Auburn Wastemobile (located in the Outlet Collection):
- Located in the Outlet Collection Mall near the loading dock for Nordstrom Rack
- 1101 Outlet Collection Way, Auburn, WA 98001

When you arrive, follow the posted signs to find the drop-off location. From there, follow directions provided by facility staff. They will help you unload your hazardous waste before they sort and dispose of your items. The process is easy, free, and eco-friendly.
