Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC)

Committed, collaborative, and compassionate animal care services

Limited operations continue

Due to storm damage to our cat building, we are limiting operations at the Pet Adoption Center in Kent and not offering onsite cat adoptions until further notice.

We are asking residents to:

  • Avoid bringing stray animals into the shelter. Instead, use the tips we have at kingcounty.gov/FoundAPet, using websites and social media to reunite stray pets with their owners.
  • Hold off on surrendering a pet. Connect with friends or family for temporary pet housing.
  • Consider adopting a pet through our foster adoption process.

Because our shelter capacity is limited, prospective adopters should carefully check the location given in each animal's online adoption bio and follow the appropriate Pet Adoption Path. Many of our adoptable animals are currently in foster homes or other offsite locations while they wait for their "fur-ever" homes.
