Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC)
Committed, collaborative, and compassionate animal care services
Limited operations through December 19
Due to the ongoing flood emergency, we are limiting operations at the Pet Adoption Center in Kent through at least December 19.
We are asking residents to:
- Avoid bringing stray animals into the shelter. Instead, use the tips we have at kingcounty.gov/FoundAPet, using websites and social media to reunite stray pets with their owners.
- Hold off on surrendering a pet. Connect with friends or family for temporary pet housing if you live in a flood-impacted area.
Also, because many roads in the Kent Valley are closed or restricted due to flooding, we ask that prospective pet adopters hold off on visiting the center during the current situation. We will be moving most of our animals to foster homes or other offsite locations.
December adoption special
Help a pet find a Home for the Holidays! Through December 31, you can adopt a cat or dog for just $30 - the cost of a King County pet license.
Check out all the pets we have waiting for you on our Adopt a Pet page.
The Giving Tree at Mud Bay
Through December 31, you can support RASKC and help pets in need when you visit your local Mud Bay store. Each Mud Bay location will have a Giving Tree filled with ornament tags featuring wish list items for shelter pets. Shoppers can select a tag and donate specific items that will go directly to us and the animals in our care, or you can give a cash gift.
The Mud Bay locations partnered with RASKC are:
- Burien, 148 SW 148th St.
- Covington, 17039 SE 272nd St.
- Maple Valley, 24107 SE Kent-Kangley Rd.
- Renton Fairwood, 17322 140th Ave. SE
Happy holidays from RASKC and Mud Bay!
