King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci is releasing the following statement concerning the apparent passage of statewide ballot measure I-976.

Balducci is Vice Chair of the King County Council, chairs the King County Regional Transit Committee, and serves on the Sound Transit board of directors.

"King County voters are rejecting I-976 and continuing to support building a transportation system that keeps our communities livable, healthy, and sustainable and supports a successful economy. It’s past time to provide essential transit services throughout King County. Job one will be to address the immediate threat to Metro local buses that are a lifeline to so many.”
