Most court records are public information

Under Washington State Courts General Rule (GR) 31, most court records are considered public, including documents. King County District Court does not publish addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth or other personal-identifying information on its e-Filing and Case Access portal. Pursuant to GR 31(e)(1), parties filing documents must redact personal identifiers unless necessary or otherwise ordered by the Court. The Court does not monitor compliance with this requirement, but upon motion may award reasonable expenses including attorney fees and costs to a prevailing party for such motion.
