“Councilmember McDermott has been an outstanding public official and colleague during his time at the Washington State Legislature and on the King County Council. I know that his decision to not run for re-election was not made lightly. I’m really looking forward to continuing to collaborate with him over the rest of the year, and appreciate his leadership, especially as the Chair of the Board of Health and Budget and Fiscal Management Committee during our last biennial budget. I wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career. “
