Regional preservation
King County's regional landmark protection program was established in 1995. Cities that want to take part in our regional program must:
- Adopt certain sections of the county landmark ordinance by reference
- Appoint a city representative to the Landmarks Commission
- Provide for design review of any changes proposed to landmark properties
Our program also provides additional services, such as:
- Preparing nominations
- Conducting historic resource surveys
- Providing assistance with preservation planning and environmental review
