Tax foreclosure excess funds data

Under state law, should a parcel be sold at tax foreclosure auction, any monies collected in excess of the amount due to King County will be released to the person(s) or entity that was the owner of record at the time the Certificate of Delinquency was filed. A list of parcels for which we are holding surplus funds can be accessed by choosing the auction year below.

These excess funds are held for three years from the date of the auction. If you believe there are funds due to you, please contact us at 206-263-2649 or email TaxForeclosures@kingcounty.gov.

By clicking any of the links above to access these records, you acknowledge and agree to the prohibitions listed in state law against releasing and/or using lists of individuals for commercial purposes.

Mortgage foreclosures and sheriff's sales

King County Treasury has no information regarding surplus funds generated by a mortgage company foreclosure or sheriff's sale. Please contact King County Superior Court's Accounting Office at 206-477-0812 to ask about these funds.
