Story
King County Executive Dow Constantine this afternoon praised the King County Council for its leadership in placing a measure to preserve current levels of public safety and health before voters on the November general election ballot:
"With each tragic incident in our community, we are reminded how important it is to maintain a public safety net of strong police protection and a functioning criminal justice system.
“I thank the Council for recognizing the gravity of the situation and stepping up to take this action.
“As we continue cutting costs and increasing efficiency, we must recognize that those measures alone cannot protect the safety and health of King County’s nearly two million residents.”
