King County will join with the Puget Sound region's largest public agencies to host the 2011 Regional Contracting Forum on March 30. Each year, more than a thousand people attend this annual networking and information-gathering event.

"The Regional Contracting Forum is a great opportunity for businesses to network with many of the region's public contracting entities at one time," said King County Business Relations Manager and Economic Policy Advisor Ray Moser. "Of particular value to businesses is the identification of upcoming public contract solicitations for the next 6 months."

The 2011 Regional Contracting Forum will take place:

Wednesday, March 30
8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Washington State Convention Center
Seventh and Pike Streets in downtown Seattle

This year the forum will include one-on-one interactive sessions between prime contractors and subcontractors for construction, architectural, and engineering services, and agency buyers and vendors. The event also serves as a 'one-stop' location for firms seeking to do business with government agencies to ask questions that will help them to successfully navigate the public competitive bidding process.

The Regional Contracting Forum is a source of useful information for contractors, vendors, and suppliers who want to learn about upcoming contracting opportunities in construction, consulting, and goods and services for government entities throughout the Puget Sound region. Business owners can network with other businesses, and visit resource agency representatives who will be available to share information on the resources and technical assistance available to help small businesses, many at no cost.

Other agencies involved in the forum include the City of Seattle, the Port of Seattle, the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises, the University of Washington, the Port of Tacoma, and Sound Transit.
