Export-Import Bank guarantees will help spur sales of Boeing 737 and 737 MAX, and support local supply chain
King County Executive Dow Constantine today thanked President Obama for his support of the local aerospace industry, at the President's visit to the Boeing plant in Everett:
"President Obama's leadership on the economy will help keep those 737 orders coming in from U.S. airlines - that means planes in the sky, and jobs on the ground.
"The President's extension of Export-Import Bank financing to domestic carriers will keep the sales of Boeing planes competitive with products from foreign manufacturers whose nations offer similar financing. This will ensure a level playing field, spur sales of the 737 and 737 MAX, and help create more good-paying jobs for our region.
"The short-term loans to small exporters come at a good time. They will give Boeing suppliers access to the credit they need to ramp up their capacity to meet the ramped-up needs for production of the 737.
"The King County Comprehensive Plan update I will transmit in a few weeks also includes a new focus on encouraging small businesses to export. I will work with our partners in the King County Aerospace Alliance to connect local firms to this valuable federal assistance provided by the President."
