King County Executive Dow Constantine today applauded the Metropolitan King County Council for its action today to add support for marriage equality to the County's state legislative agenda:

"Councilmembers showed political courage today by doing the right thing.

"Now is the time to take action, by calling upon the state to finally recognize the equality and protect the rights of all the people of Washington.

"I will work in whatever capacity I can to see this legislation passed in Olympia, and look forward to the day I can sign marriage certificates for any adult couple in King County."
