King County Executive Dow Constantine today released the following statement regarding the announcement of Rep. Norm Dicks that he will not see re-election to the United States House of Representatives:

"Norm Dicks' current Congressional district doesn't include any part of King County, but he has always been there for us as the Dean of our delegation. In his three decades of service, he has delivered for the people of his district, King County, and Washington state.

"It is no exaggeration to say that he's been like a third senator for our state: A tireless advocate for aerospace jobs; A champion for our men and women in uniform; a strong voice for local governments in our nation's capitol.

"His leadership, his integrity, and his advocacy for the people of our state will be deeply missed."
