King County Executive Dow Constantine—who proclaimed April 22 as "Earth Action Day" in King County—is encouraging residents to take advantage of the resources the County offers to make sustainable, eco-friendly choices.

The It’s Easy Being Green website provides examples of small actions that almost all residents can take, such as decreasing food waste, making greener consumer choices, and volunteering to restore natural habitats.

“It’s ultimately the decisions we make each day—what we eat, what we purchase, how we stay cool or warm, and how we travel—that have the greatest impact on our environment,” said Executive Constantine.

“We’re making it easier for the two million people who live in King County to lessen our combined impact on the planet and create a more sustainable community."

The website also lists Earth Week activities that are scheduled across King County. Residents can submit a photo of small, eco-friendly lifestyle habits and qualify to win tickets to concerts scheduled for this summer at Marymoor Park.
