“I will issue an Executive Order ensuring King County veterans programs and assistance are available to any transgender service member discharged due to President Trump’s discriminatory policy. In a series of tweets, this president sought to make official policy of his disdain for patriotic Americans who put their lives on the line for their country. It is cruel, profoundly unfair, and runs counter to the very principles our armed forces are sworn to protect. At King County, we will continue to honor transgender people - and all people - who sacrifice to safeguard this nation.”
