Microsoft’s $500 million investment to tackle affordable housing represents an historic moment for our region. Commitments of this magnitude have the opportunity to not just change individual lives and the lives of families, but to transform entire communities. With Microsoft stepping up in this way, public sector partners must do the same.

We will bring our resources – whether it’s making available surplus property, streamlining permitting, or providing incentives to encourage development. I have said many times – government acting alone cannot solve our housing and affordability challenges. Today, we begin a new era, with an old friend.
