This King County’s Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy + Resiliency (C-PACER) Program is now accepting applications. This new loan program allows commercial and multi-family buildings to secure low-cost financing from private lenders to make upgrades to their properties – including energy and water efficiency, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, seismic and resiliency upgrades, electrification improvements, and more.  

King County’s C-PACER Program leads the nation as the first PACE program to exclude fossil fuel-burning equipment as a qualified improvement, advancing the County’s push to decarbonize the built environment and meet aggressive greenhouse gas reduction targets. It is part of the County’s broader Strategic Climate Action Plan, which includes priority actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build sustainable and resilient frontline communities, and prepare for the impacts of climate change.  

C-PACER loans are available to buildings that must comply with the State’s Clean Buildings Performance Standard, and can be coupled with Early Adopter Incentive Program grants to make upgrades even more affordable. To help explain C-PACER, how it works, and how the region can benefit from this new program, King County released a new video series, called “Clean Buildings King County”.  

There are no program limits on C-PACER loans, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Property owners interested in using C-PACER can work with a registered PACE lender to submit applications to the King County C-PACER Program.
