Test ride your commute
Take up to three FREE rides in a Metro Vanpool or Vanshare before deciding to join the group.
Vanpooling provides a convenient, shared, direct commute route for a group of 5 to 15 people so they can enjoy traveling to work together.
1. Find a Vanpool to join
If you need to find an existing Vanpool or Vanshare that matches your commute, use the Seatfinder tool below or call King County Metro at 206-625-4500.
Please note that you will need to contact the Vanpool group in order to arrange your test rides.
Contacting the Vanpool Group
Getting started is easy! Once you find a vanpool that fits your schedule and route, simply reach out to the group using the email address in your search results.
If there’s an available seat, coordinate your test ride by confirming the pickup time and meeting location. Don’t forget to ask your group contact for these key details:
- Van number
- Van work schedule and operating hours
- Route origin and destination

If you decide to continue as a permanent member of the group, you will need to complete the Commuter Van Application below. The Vanpool driver or bookkeeper can assist you with this onboarding process.
