As a 9-1-1 Communications Specialist, you will serve as the primary link between people in need of emergency assistance and the individuals who can provide it.

- 9-1-1 Communications Specialist (Call-Taker) - New openings early 2025
- Answer inbound 9-1-1 calls.
- Gather all relevant information from callers; determine if call is emergency or non-emergency.
- Input information into computer aided-dispatch system (CAD).
- Route information to dispatch if it's an emergency call or to the appropriate designated service agency if it's a non-emergency call.
- 911 Dispatcher (Requires two years of experience in a 9-1-1 communications center)
- Triage emergency requests for assistance. Relay pertinent information to responders via radio.
- Assign emergency response priority to events by determining whether immediate response could save lives or prevent crimes.
- Manage multiple radio frequencies and radio communications simultaneously.
- Record information and maintain required logs, event cards and other forms during periods of computer aided dispatch down time.
