Memorial Day holiday closures and service impacts

King County government offices will be closed on Memorial Day, the last Monday of May.

In 2025, Memorial Day will be on Monday, May 26.

Transit

• Check Metro bus and transit holiday service information to see if service is different on Memorial Day.
• Check Water Taxi schedules to see if there is service on Memorial Day:
  • Vashon Island to Seattle
  • West Seattle to Seattle
• Metro offices will be closed. This includes customer service, lost and found, and pass sales.

Courts

District Court, Superior Court, and the Superior Court Clerk’s office will be closed.

Other services

• Solid waste facilities and transfer stations will be open.
• Contact your garbage collection service provider for information on collections.
