For-hire permit and decal display
Permit
Your for-hire permit will show your same name as your driver's license, your for-hire identification number, your vehicle endorsement number, and an expiration date.
Decal
TNC drivers will get a decal (sticker) for your vehicle after it has been inspected and approved.
For many years the decal was green. In April 2026, King County and the City of Seattle will begin issuing the decal in orange. The information printed on the new decals will remain unchanged.
If your TNC vehicle currently has a green decal assigned to it, that decal should remain affixed to your windshield until your next permit renewal.
Permit and decal placement
Permit display
The passenger side of the dashboard is a good place to display your enlarged permit so that it is visible to a passenger, even from the back seat.
Orange decal display
Apply the decal to the inside of your windshield in the driver side lower corner, but do not block the driver's visibility. The decal must be clearly visible from the outside.
Green decal display
The decal must be clear from the outside near the rearview mirror.
