Public engagement

Learn how King County is engaging the community around the Mouth of Duwamish Wet Weather Facilities.

Our commitment to you

King County pledges to be a good neighbor in all our work. We are dedicated to listening to the community. This means that we are committed to taking feedback from the community, and you can expect to see us working with community groups in the project area to ensure that the project reflects neighborhood values.

If you want to schedule an individual meeting or briefing, please contact Bibiana Ocheke-Ameh.

How we work with the community

The Mouth of Duwamish Wet Weather Facilities team will engage with the community through a variety of methods including, but not limited to:

  • Mailed and virtual project updates
  • Interviews with community leaders
  • Outreach to area businesses
  • Attendance at community meetings and events
  • Online and in-person open houses
  • Public surveys

Outreach meetings and events

Thank you for attending our February drop-in sessions!

  • February 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Home Depot, 2701 Utah Avenue South
  • February 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Macrina Bakery, 1943 1st Avenue South

King County staffed a table at Home Depot (in SODO) to share information about the Mouth of Duwamish Wet Weather Facilities.

Last month, King County hosted two drop-in sessions in the SODO neighborhood. We spoke with community members at Home Depot and Macrina Bakery.

Thank you to those who visited with our team and signed up for email updates! We look forward to continuing the conversation as this work progresses.
