Quality Assurance Program
Our Quality Assurance Program helps set up and maintain dependable methods for sample collection and analysis. These methods help us to meet regulatory standards as well as our own goals and those of our clients.
Dedication to scientific excellence
We are an accredited laboratory with the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology). The lab accreditation program certifies that we have proper procedures and systems in place to produce accurate data. Ecology audits our lab every few years to make sure this is happening.
Every year we coordinate performance evaluation samples that are analyzed by our scientists as part of this program. We do not know the true value of these samples until after submitting our results. We average 98-100% accuracy and are recognized as an excellent laboratory by Ecology.
Maintaining quality in the laboratory
Our Quality Assurance Officer also does routine internal quality checks of the laboratory, including:
- Review of method performance
- Ensure that staff follow quality assurance policies
- Review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure that staff follow SOPs
- Maintain Quality Assurance manual
